Prior to signing the Bar Roll Roy practised as a solicitor for 18 years with a variety of firms consisting of Hunt & Hunt (Jul 90 to Dec 94), Blake Dawson Waldron (Jan 95 to Sep 97), Wisewoulds (Oct 97 to Jan 01) and most recently with Frenkel Partners (Feb 01 to Feb 08) where he was a Partner.

During his time as a solicitor Roy gained broad experience in a wide range of civil litigation matters including insurance litigation, personal injuries, administrative law and commercial litigation.

He has acted for both individual clients and large corporate clients including insurers and self insurers.

Roy has acted and appeared on behalf of clients before various State and Commonwealth Courts and Tribunals including the Magistrates Court, County Court, Supreme Court, AAT and Federal Court.

Roy has developed a particular interest in personal injury claims under the Comcare legislation.
